Today I found an interesting article on the nine msn site about Bono and U2, concerning Bono's involvment in Make Poverty History. Apparently Bono has caused a stir in the band with his work in this area. But things are never easy when you are doing God's work. Satan will attack and will do his best to bring you down. And sometimes he will attack what means most to you. And for Bono that has been pressure placed on him by his band members.
The thing about the article though is that no dates are listed. The comment that Bono said he thought he was going to be forced out of the band does not carry a date on when he said that, and when he thought that might happen. So this whole thing may have happened a very long time ago.
Another interesting thing that I saw on TV was a small snippet of Andrew G's interview with U2. Bono was talking about the voice he has recently acquired. Since the passing of his Father he has become increasingly aware of the improvement in his voice, and how recently his voice has dramatically improved, and that now he is able to hit notes that he ahs never been able to before. What he put this down to was God.
'When you look after God's stuff he looks after yours. Can't be sure but that's what it feels like.'
That's not an exact quote but it's pretty close.
As obvious as it is, I'll still say it. Because of the fan base that U2 has, Bono has gone and worked for the poor on a very large scale. He has answered the calling that God has on his life, and it would appear that God has rewarded that to an extent. He has blessed Bono with a gift of his voice.
I think that's pretty cool.
